Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato Actors in Rehearsal

Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato

Started in 2006

Aktion Club Theatre of Mankato is working on a new play, “The Welcoming Table: Relevance and Stories that Matter” that will be presented on July 26th and 27th at Centenary United Methodist Church. Watch for further details! Aktion Club Theatre is sponsored by the Mankato Kiwanis Club.

In-Person rehearsals at Centenary Church

1st and 3rd Tuesdays from 6:30-8:00 PM. Social time starts at 6:00 PM.

April-June 2024 Rehearsal Dates are: 04/30; 05/07 (Performance at the Carnegie Art Center); 06/01 (Performance at the SMILES Black Party); 06/04; 06/18

Started in 2017

Fun Fact: Sponsored by the Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont. Aktion Club Theatre of Fairmont presented their first full-length play, Golden Belle and the Silver Key in October 2023!

The United We Stand Players of New Ulm

Started in 1994

The United We Stand Players will present their 30th anniversary play in 2024! It is a love story called, “Samuel and Beatrice: A Love Story”. You will love it!

In-Person Rehearsals at Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK) the 2nd Tuesday of the month, The New Ulm Community Center (NUCC) the 4th Tuesday of the month

2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 4:30-6:00 PM.

April-June 2024 Rehearsal Dates are: 04/23 (NUCC); 05/14 (CTK); 05/28 (NUCC); 06/11 (CTK) and 06/25 (NUCC)

Friday Poet’s Gathering

Started in 2020

Ongoing Zoom activity

Every Friday from 3–4 PM

In 2023, the Friday Poets will continue to explore how poets, artists, musicians, dancers, and actors with a range of disabilities and impairments, have re-conceptualized disability, turning it into a source of pride, inspiration, community, and culture. Each week, they look at work by an artist with a disability. They go to breakout rooms to write about our responses to that artist’s work. The following week, they’ll share responses with the group. Scribes/writing coaches are available to participants.

Zoom Box Actors

The group offered an on-line public reading of an adapted version of Midsummer’s Night Dream by Shakespeare on Friday, February 17th, 2023. The group is planning a talent showcase for April of 2024.

Fun Fact: This group was founded to create a space for performance in the virtual world. The hope is to reach actors who may not have access to inclusive theatrical

1:1 Artistic Mentoring

Started in 2021

Fun Fact: An artistic service we provide to help: 1) Help artists develop a collection of work; 2) Write artistic resumes; 3) Assist with grant writing; 4) Scribing oral stories; 5) Provide artistic resources.
